Founded in 1987 and headquartered in the East of England, Plantexpand is a leading independent provider of outsourced maintenance, statutory compliance and asset management services for fleet vehicles and specialist plant equipment.
Its nationwide network of mobile engineers and workshops supports blue-chip customers across utilities, telecommunications, transport and public services. Underpinned by its proprietary technology platform, Plantexpand helps customers maximise asset uptime, meet regulatory requirements and reduce whole-life operating costs.
The acquisition marks the next stage of Plantexpand’s growth. Premius Capital will support the business as it builds on its national service platform, long-standing customer relationships and technology-enabled delivery model.
Crowe worked closely with the shareholders, management and buyer throughout the transaction. The team delivered financial and tax vendor due diligence for Plantexpand and Foresight Group, alongside targeted top-up financial due diligence for Premius Capital, providing clear insight into the business and supporting an efficient path to completion.
The Crowe team was led by Geert Struyven alongside David Payne, supported by Harvir Atwal and Josh Parmar. Emma Reynolds led the tax due diligence team, with support from Rebecca Underdown.
“Crowe provided Vendor Due Diligence services for the sale of Plantexpand to Premius Capital. Geert, Harvir and Josh's approach was thorough and commercially focused throughout, resulting in a clear and credible financial picture of the business which supported a smooth sale process.”
Dan Dickinson, Chief Financial Officer, Plantexpand
"Crowe provided strong support to Premius Capital throughout the acquisition of Plantexpand. In addition to the core financial due diligence, the team helped us develop a clear understanding of the balance sheet, working capital, and cash requirements. They brought a useful operational and commercial perspective to the assessment of the P&L and the ramp-up of new contracts. The work was well managed throughout, with a pragmatic and responsive approach."
