The acquisition expands NRG’s footprint across the UK from seven to twelve sites, almost doubling its membership base. This reinforces the company’s mission to provide affordable, high-quality, inclusive fitness experiences to a broader range of communities, and marks a significant step in its growth strategy following the success of its existing portfolio.
Backed by a new £11 million facility from HSBC, the acquisition strengthens NRG’s strategic and financial foundation and also delivers strong operational synergies, with both brands sharing key value-oriented features such as spacious, well-equipped gyms, flexible memberships, and 24/7 access.
Crowe provided financial and tax due diligence. Mitesh Patelia and Peter Varley led the Corporate Finance team with support from Jacob Porter and Lucy Gill.
"The acquisition of PumpGyms marks an important milestone in expanding our presence and delivering high-quality, inclusive fitness experiences to more communities. The Crowe team’s expertise and professionalism provided us with the confidence and clarity needed to ensure a smooth and successful process."
