Employers have been given an option to apply for deferment and restructuring of employer's share of EPF contributions

Employees Provident Fund Measures

Several measures have been taken by the EPF to help the employers and employees alleviate the economic impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. The measures are listed as follows:

  1. Reduction in the minimum employees EPF contribution by 4% from 11% to 7% for the period of 1 April to 31 December 2020;
  2. Extension of due date for payment of April 2020 contribution (March 2020 salary) to 30 April 2020.
  3. Introduction of EPF i-Lestari withdrawal scheme. A maximum withdrawal of RM500 per month for a period of 12 months (starting from April 2020 until March 2021).
  4. Introduction of Employer COVID-19 Assistance Program to SME employers
