Crowe has promoted Ben Carter and Charlie Copp to Partner, reinforcing its strategic focus on high-growth service lines and key sector specialisms.

The promotions reflect the firm’s continued investment in developing talent and enhancing the depth of expertise it delivers to businesses and professional services clients.

Ben Carter, Professional Practices

Crowe has promoted Ben Carter to Partner in its Professional Practices team, bolstering the firm’s specialist tax advisory support for partnerships, LLPs, and their partners.

With more than 14 years’ experience, Ben specialises in Professional Practices and individual Partners’ taxation, advising on matters including salaried members legislation, tax reserves, and the tax implications of international expansion and growth. He also advises individuals who are members of multi‑jurisdictional firms, with particular expertise supporting Partners in US law firms.

Ben, who joined the firm in 2011, leads the firm’s annual Law Firm Benchmarking Report, which provides valuable insight into the Professional Practices sector that continues to perform strongly despite wider economic pressures.

Ben CarterBen Carter, Partner, Professional Practices and Private Clients, commented:

“I’m delighted to join the partnership at Crowe. As I mark my 15th year with the firm, I’m genuinely excited to continue my journey here and to play a key role in driving the ongoing growth and future development of our Professional Practices team. The UK professional practices sector remains resilient, with firms pursuing growth through consolidation, international expansion, and the development of specialist UK teams. At the same time, they are navigating regulatory change, succession challenges, and evolving client expectations – an environment in which Crowe is well-placed to support clients.”

Charlie Copp, Corporate Finance

Charlie Copp has been promoted to Partner in the firm’s Corporate Finance team, following a strong year for the practice and sustained demand for mid‑market M&A advisory services. He is also the firm’s Life Sciences and Healthcare industry lead.

With more than 15 years’ experience, Charlie advises entrepreneurs, shareholders, and management teams on sell‑side, buy-side, and capital‑raising transactions typically ranging from £10 million to £50 million. His transactions have often involved private equity investing in UK businesses and backing management teams. He is highly experienced in cross-border M&A, particularly involving buyers from North America and Europe.

Charlie’s clients are predominantly owner‑managed SMEs, and while he has advised high‑quality businesses across a broad range of sectors, he has a particular focus on healthcare and life sciences.

Charlie CoppCharlie Copp, Partner, Corporate Finance and Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare, commented:

“I’m thrilled to join the partnership. Having started my career at Crowe, it is especially rewarding to take this step within the firm. Following an outstanding year for the Corporate Finance team in 2025, we are well-positioned to build on this momentum with a strong pipeline and a number of live transactions. The UK M&A market is showing clear signs of renewed confidence, with strong demand for high‑quality mid‑market businesses. Private equity remains active, supported by significant capital to deploy, while strategic and cross-border M&A continues to underpin deal activity in the market. In this environment, well‑prepared businesses are achieving strong valuations through competitive processes. I look forward to continuing to support clients in realising the value they have created in their businesses.”

Nigel BostockNigel Bostock, Chief Executive at Crowe UK, added:

“We are pleased to welcome Charlie and Ben to the partnership as the firm continues to strengthen and deepen its expertise and capabilities. Both promotions reflect the depth of talent within Crowe and our commitment to supporting businesses and professional practices with sector‑led, insight‑driven advice. Their experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to invest in our core growth areas.”

These promotions follow a series of Partner hires at Crowe, most recently including the appointment of Mark Dyer to the firm’s well-established national VAT, Customs and International Trade practice, and Bhavin Bharakda to its Consulting practice
