The business case for nature

A white paper on exploring nature-related risks, business resilience and future value creation.

04/08/2026

Nature is increasingly a business issue, not just an environmental one.

The World Economic Forum estimates that more than half of global economic output is moderately or highly dependent on nature and its services. As biodiversity loss, water stress, deforestation and ecosystem degradation accelerate, organisations are facing new risks that can affect operations, supply chains, investment performance and long-term resilience.

At the same time, nature-related risks and opportunities are moving up the corporate agenda. Evolving reporting requirements, increasing investor scrutiny and growing stakeholder expectations mean organisations are being challenged to better understand how nature impacts their business and strategy.

Our latest white paper, The business case for nature, explores:

  • why nature loss is becoming a material financial risk
  • the connection between climate and nature-related risks
  • emerging regulatory developments, including the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)
  • how organisations can support and benefit from the transition to a nature-positive economy
  • what market leaders are doing to embed nature into strategy, risk management and investment decision-making.

With nature-related risks continuing to evolve, organisations that act now can strengthen resilience, identify new opportunities and better prepare for future regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
