We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior AI Solutions Architect & Developer to lead the integration and adoption of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs) across our organisation. This role is a critical blend of hands-on AI development, strategic architecture and organisational enablement. The ideal candidate will not only design and build sophisticated AI-driven agents but will also be instrumental in transforming our internal capabilities by training staff on effective and responsible AI/LLM use.
Key Responsibilities
AI Design & Development
- Design and Develop AI Agents: Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of complex AI-driven agents, specialised bots, and generative applications to solve critical business challenges and drive efficiency.
- Architect AI Solutions: Define the technical architecture for integrating AI/LLMs (both proprietary and open-source) into our existing IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Model Selection and Fine-Tuning: Evaluate, select, and fine-tune appropriate LLMs and foundational models for specific use cases, optimising for accuracy, speed, and cost.
- Prompt Engineering & Agentic Workflow: Develop advanced prompt engineering strategies and implement agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen) to create multi-step, sophisticated AI workflows.
- Data Strategy: To build data science and data engineering teams to define data pipelines, quality standards, and governance policies necessary to support and train AI models.
Organisational Enablement & Training
- Develop and Lead Training Programs: Create and deliver comprehensive training programs for technical and non-technical staff on the practical use, capabilities, and limitations of AI and LLMs.
- Establish Best Practices: Define and document best practices, governance frameworks, and ethical guidelines for the responsible and secure use of AI tools across the organisation.
- Consultation & Support: Serve as the organisation's subject matter expert (SME) on AI, providing consultation to department heads and project teams on potential AI applications and feasibility.
- Community of Practice: Establish an internal "AI Champions" or "Community of Practice" group to foster a culture of innovation and shared learning around AI.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years dedicated to building and deploying production-level AI/ML solutions.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Demonstrable experience with major LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini) and open-source models (e.g., Llama, Mistral).
- Hands-on experience with vector databases and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Familiarity with agentic development frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deploying and managing AI workloads.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for training diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- Experience with MLOps practices for managing the full AI model lifecycle.
- Prior experience in curriculum development or technical training roles.
