Crowe, promotes Hayley Ives, Matthew Howard and Marc Newman to partnership effective 1 October 2025.

Nigel Bostock, Chief Executive of Crowe UK, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Hayley, Matthew and Marc to the partnership. As we continue to grow our teams and capabilities across the firm, each of them will play an important role in further building on our expertise and the support we offer to our clients.”

Hayley Ives

Hayley Ives

Hayley has over 18 years of experience supporting taxpayers through complex interactions with HMRC. In her practice, Hayley covers all aspects of tax resolutions, including fraud investigations and disputes with HMRC. She also deals with HMRC challenges under self-assessment and voluntary disclosures.

Hayley supports a wide range of clients nationwide, including high net worth individuals, the self-employed, partners and those with tax residence/domicile issues, as well as Trustees, executors and company directors. She has a particular focus on individuals, Trusts and estates, especially in relation to offshore matters, with her cases frequently involving overseas assets, Trusts, and other structures.

On her promotion, Hayley Ives commented: “I am thrilled about my promotion to partnership at Crowe. This is a time of accelerated change for tax transparency and enforcement. HMRC now has unprecedented access to data which, when paired with the capabilities of AI, has the potential to widen the scope for investigations more than ever before.

“There is a growing demand for specialists who can guide taxpayers through increasing scrutiny with clarity and confidence. I look forward to working alongside John Cassidy and Sean Wakeman to expand Crowe’s offering in this area and help our clients navigate this evolving landscape.”

Matthew Howard

Matt HowardMatthew, who joined Crowe as a trainee in 2007, has extensive experience supporting a diverse portfolio of corporate and non-profit entities. His corporate clients are predominantly owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail, and consultancy.

While Matthew specialises in statutory audit, he is also experienced in Historical Financial Information (HFI) audits for companies seeking to float on stock exchanges, as well as performing reviews of acquisition balance sheets.

Commenting on his appointment, Matthew Howard said: “I am delighted with my promotion to Audit Partner, and I look forward to helping to continue to grow and shape the audit team across our UK offices. We have ambitious growth plans nationally and locally and it’s exciting to anticipate how these plans will come to fruition in the next few years.”

Marc Newman

Marc NewmanMarc brings 19 years’ audit experience to his new role as Corporate Audit Partner, having started his career with Crowe in 2006. He has served as a director and Responsible Individual (RI) since 2023 and has extensive experience of both UK GAAP and IFRS.

Marc’s clients include owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed companies and AIM-listed groups, and he has acted as Reporting Accountant on several AIM listings. He works across multiple sectors including manufacturing, construction, software, distribution and international trade.

Marc Newman added: “I am very proud to have worked at Crowe for 19 years and am thrilled to now join the partnership as a Corporate Audit partner. I look forward to continuing to support my clients as they navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

These promotions mark a further milestone in the firm’s growth strategy and follows the recent partner promotions of Mark Holborow to Insolvency and Restructuring Partner and Hayley Lavery to Corporate Audit Partner earlier this year.
