Sustainability Policy

Policy scope and purpose

This sustainability policy formalises Crowe U.K. LLP.’s (“Crowe”) longstanding commitment to responsible business practices in the area of sustainability which we consider to include environmental stewardship, social responsibility as well as governance, ethics, and compliance.

This policy applies to all of Crowe’s UK operations

Our commitment

At Crowe, we are committed to building a professional services firm focused on sustainability. We do this by setting out a strategic plan that takes the longer-term view to delivering real benefits and outcomes for our people and our clients.

Our purpose is to work collaboratively to deliver high quality work, excellent client service and act in the public interest, while growing the firm in a profitable, resilient, and sustainable way, in an environment that delivers a rewarding people experience where talented people can realise their potential, are successful and enjoy what they do by making a positive difference to our clients, communities and each other.

We use our skills to help solve problems while focusing on being more socially inclusive and being a careful custodian of our limited environmental resources. Crowe aspires to lead on and respond to the bigger global issues. We will endeavour to meet the needs of the present without compromising the future for generations to come.

We play our part in building an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future for people and the planet through our values which encompass elements that are interconnected and crucial for the wellbeing of individuals and societies including:

   economic growth
  social inclusion
  environmental protection

Our values

Our values positively support our commitment to sustainability in what we do and we deliver this by demonstrating:

We care

We care about:

  • our environment
  • the communities that we work in
  • the diversity of those who work in and with our firm
  • the extent to which we provide opportunities to people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, thereby enhancing their social mobility
  • the sustainability of what we do
  • our own governance because this guarantees that we remain a responsible business.

At Crowe, we are proud to say “We are Crowe”: In practice this means we care about equity, our people and our clients. To be successful, we seek to build and develop lasting relationships with the communities we serve, including with those who are socially disadvantaged. We believe in challenging and standing up against all discrimination, and we care about making the world a more just place for all.

We take responsibility for our impact on the environment and take action where appropriate. We seek to understand such challenges, faced today and in the future, to better our knowledge and make smart decisions.

Close working relationships are at the heart of our approach to our sustainability programme and we rely on our firm’s good governance to ensure that this remains the case.

We share

We share knowledge and the skills of our people to increase our impact within and outside Crowe.

Our approach to sustainability is evidence-based, where possible, and pragmatic. Our people use their experience to apply the best advice to our communities in a way that is easily understood and can be practically applied.

We are not afraid to ask challenging questions about our own policies and procedures, as well as those of our clients, to ensure we are adopting best practice. Collaborative working is integral to realising and achieving our firm’s goals. We actively encourage feedback and welcome alternative perspectives and contributions from our people.

We invest

We invest in continuous quality assurance and training. Our passion for innovation, agility, and creativity helps our clients, our people, and our communities prepare for the future.

We actively encourage our people to continue to develop their skills, ensuring we’re always moving toward adding long lasting value internally and to our clients.

Through supporting local communities our people develop their own communication, teamwork, and leadership skills as well as that of others. Across the firm we advocate equal access to training, career progression, and development as part of our sustainability programme.

We grow

We grow by continuously challenging our decisions enabling us to make smart choices that have lasting value. We support our people, our clients and our communities to develop their skills so they can achieve success. In a world that is rapidly changing, we help our people and clients answer tomorrow’s questions, today.

We have grown to be one of the UK’s leading professional services firms. As a member of Crowe Global, one of the top 10 accounting networks in the world, our skills and resources have a wide reach allowing us to support many diverse communities.

Implementation

The Crowe UK Executive has articulated a strategy covering people, environment, clients, supply chain, community, governance and disclosures to implement this policy. This includes specific actions that will be delivered over the next two years.

Policy approval and review

The Crowe UK Executive approved this policy in October 2023 and will review its appropriateness on an annual basis.

It is because we are a responsible business that we have adopted this sustainability policy and we will continue to energetically pursue its aims through the implementation of our sustainability strategy.
