Hassan  Damerji

Hassan is a seasoned internal audit leader with over 20 years of experience, and Big Four external audit background in the USA, UAE and the Middle East. Currently, Hassan is a Director, Risk Advisory, at Crowe UAE. Prior to moving to Dubai in July 2024, Hassan has led internal audit, as Chief Audit Executive (CAE) for two companies in Los Angeles, California. Expert in Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), including Sarbanes-Oxley and COSO 2013, corporate governance, risk management, and process improvement. Industry experience in multi-billion sized companies in retail, supply chain management, telecom, and entertainment technology.

As a lifelong learner and educator, in the past ten years, he has taught accounting and auditing courses at two universities in California. His published dissertation and article on Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in accounting and auditing are well-referenced. Hassan is Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Leadership from University of La Verne, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from University of La Verne, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from California Polytechnic State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California.
