Dr. Khalid Maniar is a Fellow of ACCA (UK) and holds a doctorate from Washington University, USA. He founded his chartered accountancy practice in Dubai on 18 September 1981, which has since grown to be ranked among the top six accounting firms in the UAE. Over the years, he has played a prominent leadership role in the profession, serving as Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Members Group for Crowe Global and as a member of the advisory board of the “Auditors’ Group” established by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. With a career spanning several decades as a general practitioner, Dr. Maniar has been deeply involved in clients’ affairs, covering audit, efficient and effective corporate structuring, and corporate tax planning. He is particularly recognised for his expertise in structuring family businesses and large corporates. Under his guidance, Crowe UAE and Oman has evolved into a truly multidisciplinary practice, supported by subject matter experts across almost all spheres of professional services.
Dr. Maniar’s contributions have been widely recognised. He received the Indywood Pravasi Ratna Award (2017) for his contribution to the Indian economy; was listed among Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Indian Business Owners in the Arab World in 2016, 2017 and 2018; was honoured with the Pride of India Award by the Indian Business and Professional Council for his service to India and the Indian community in the UAE; and received the ACCA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
