VAT is a complex area for social purpose and non profit organisations and can often cause confusion. Our VAT specialists will be delivering this webinar to update you on the latest issues and changes that have taken place over the last 12 months.

The team will cover issues and opportunities facing the sector right now, what HMRC are doing and what lies ahead.

What we will cover

  • Yorkshire Agricultural Society – when is an event now exempt from VAT?
  • Hotel Le Tour – confirms the principles for charities involved in making exempt supplies.  We will also discuss scenarios where initial non-business activity eventually leads to a taxable supply.
  • HMRC – structural risk reviews, compliance checks and error corrections.
  • 1 April 2026 – VAT relief for the donation of goods by a business to a charity.
  • Capital Goods Scheme – What is it and why the change to £600,000?

There will also be a Q&A session at the end.

Who should attend

The webinar is aimed at anyone who deals with VAT in a social purpose and non profit organisation. If you have colleagues who may find this webinar of interest, please forward this invitation to them.
