This year's results show that increases in people numbers and base line expenses have led to a decrease in profit pools, despite increased fee income for most firms.

City firms continue to struggle with lock-up and have seen a four-day increase when comparing the results to 2022.

Only 32% of all participants have a well-established sustainability programme in place, showing that law firms have some ground to make up in this area.
