Crowe in Portugal, composed of the companies Crowe & Associados, SROC, Crowe JV – Consultoria Fiscal e de Gestão, Lda., Crowe Accountify PT - Management Solutions, Lda., and Crowe Advisory PT, Lda., under the aegis of Crowe Global, hereby presents its Privacy Policy for the What's Next Conference, informing you of your rights and outlining how your personal data is collected and used.
Crowe in Portugal is committed to complying with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For the purposes of organizing the What's Next Conference, as part of Crowe Portugal’s knowledge-sharing and outreach activities, personal data of individuals who register for the event will be collected and processed in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR, based respectively on the performance of a contract (including the selection of participants for certain sessions aimed at a specialized audience) and Crowe Portugal’s legitimate interests in assessing whether the event reached its target audience, as described in the What's Next Conference program at https://www.crowe.com/pt/eventos/whats-next-2025.
Crowe in Portugal also ensures the processing of collected personal data, namely email addresses, for the purpose of sending confirmation/proof of registration for the What's Next Conference, as well as for preparing and sending certification documents to which participants are entitled. In this context, providing the requested personal data is a necessary requirement for registration in the What's Next Conference.
As the data controller, Crowe in Portugal undertakes to guarantee the confidentiality and security of the personal data collected and processed, ensuring that it will be used solely for the stated purposes and retained only for a maximum period of ninety business days from the last day of the What's Next 2025 Conference, for the preparation of purely statistical information without identification or identifiability of the data subjects.
During the What's Next Conference, image content will be collected, including photographs, video, and audio recordings, which will subsequently be stored, processed, and shared on Crowe Portugal’s social media and other digital platforms. By accepting this notice, you consent to the use of such images (video and photo) in the aforementioned media.
Crowe in Portugal does not transfer the collected personal data to third parties, nor does it foresee any international data transfers. Should such transfers become necessary in the future, Crowe in Portugal guarantees that they will only occur in accordance with the requirements set out in Articles 45 and 46 of the GDPR, namely through adequacy decisions by the European Commission or the adoption of appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
No automated decisions, including profiling, are made based on the processed personal data.
Data subjects have the right to request from Crowe in Portugal access to their personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, or the right to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability when technically feasible, in accordance with the GDPR.
