Karyn Lipman

Karyn Lipman is a Consultant in Crowe Soberman’s Tax Group, following a distinguished career as a Senior Tax Partner and long standing leader within the firm.

With decades of experience, Karyn continues to provide strategic tax advice, specializing in cross border and international tax, real estate taxation, estate planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Her deep knowledge of Canadian income tax and fiscal planning allows her to guide clients through complex and evolving tax matters with clarity, precision, and practical insight.

Throughout her career, Karyn built a highly active international practice. She has advised foreign clients on “Doing Business in Canada,” supported numerous organizations in establishing tax efficient Canadian operations, and helped businesses navigate the complexities of the Canada U.S. Tax Treaty. Her expertise has been instrumental in addressing intricate cross border challenges for both public and private corporations.

An accomplished McGill University alumna, Karyn continued her love for education and devoted much of her time and talent to the University, where she developed the course “Taxation of Real Estate”. She was a recipient of awards and scholarships and, after graduating, lectured for many years on various subjects including real estate taxation.

Karyn has contributed articles to professional business and trade publications, such as the Canadian Tax Foundation, and she has been quoted in major newspapers and similar media. She continues to enjoy presenting on tax related subjects to a wide range of interest groups, sharing insights gained throughout her distinguished career.
