The Team Helped Make Everything Possible

I have served with the Crowe MacKay team for over 30 of the 50 years. The team here has remained focused on client service at a personal level, with high partner contribution to the individual clients, leading to both success and growth. It has been our individual commitment as a team rather than image that has made the difference to the professional level of relationship service. I chose to build my career with Crowe MacKay because of the people. I joined a great team in Kelowna when I started with Don Turri, John Bayer, Jim Stewart, Elaine Procter, Chris White, and Mike Crowley. Each of these impacted my career and the practice we built. 

I started as a young professional in this firm and have transitioned to a seasoned partner as part of a team. I’ve attended national conferences, sat on numerous committees, supported local events, and created value for individual clients and international companies. Crowe MacKay’s values: We Care, We Share, We Invest, We Grow; are everything. Integrity starts and ends here. We have differentiated ourselves in the market because we are in control of our relationships. This has allowed us to serve our clients at a high level. I’ve seen Crowe MacKay grow and expand, but no matter our size we keep our values at the core of what we do; people, professionalism, and integrity matter. Our multi-office tax group and accountants have been very supportive of each other and of our clients in every location.

There have been many accomplishments for me during my time, many of which I have to thank my mentors Iain MacKay, Don Turri, Don Smith, and Dan Basso, but my favourite is how client success led to national participation in tax education, including the CPA Canada predecessor Task Force on Tax Education. Giving back to our community and profession ultimately led to my recognition as a Fellow of the CPAs and CAs, something I am fortunate to have been recognized for and was only possible with the support of our team.
