Foundations Spring 2021

This edition of Foundations marks almost a full year since we first went into lockdown. Here we reflect on an extremely challenging year.

It is only right to acknowledge and honour the tremendous efforts of all in the housing sector to adapt and respond to the situation, to maintain services and continue to deliver quality homes to residents and those in need.

Many would say the biggest challenges are yet to come. With the impact of the pandemic still very much influencing decision-making, what will the long-term impact be on unemployment, housing development capacity, viability, delivery approaches and government policy?

What we cover in this edition

  • Importing goods from 2021
  • Housing Associations and Going Concern
  • Making Tax Digital for VAT
  • Fraud in the Housing Sector
  • National Housing Federation Code of Governance
  • Change in VAT treatment of dilapidations and other compensation payments
  • Has COVID infected IR35 determinations?
  • Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting
  • Will the new VAT domestic reverse charge on construction services affect housing associations?
  • Upcoming virtual events and webinars which will be relevant to you.
