Jingchan Hu

Jingchan (Jin) Hu first joined Crowe Soberman in 2010. After a two-year hiatus from her original role with Crowe Soberman, Jin returned in early 2015 and is a Partner in the Tax Group. Jin also serves in the roles of China Desk Representative and International Liaison Partner (ILP) for Crowe Soberman to Crowe Global, a network of over 200 independent firms across 130+ countries.

Through her experience in public accounting and tax, Jin has enjoyed the exposure to a wide variety of industries and engagements. She serves clients in a range of sectors including privately-held businesses; manufacturing; wholesale and distribution; and real estate and construction.

Jin is engaged in all areas of the tax practice including estate and trust compliance and planning, as well as personal and corporate tax compliance and planning for both domestic and international clients. Her diverse experience enables her to provide broad insight when advising and assisting clients. Jin obtained her Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation in 2015.

Outside of the office, Jin enjoys spending time with her young family and participating in community initiatives. She is an active participant in the Toronto tax community. Jin is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Toronto (EPCT) and serves as Co-Chair on the Steering Committee of Cambridge Forums’ ‘Forum for Senior Estates & Trusts Practitioners 3rd Generation’.

Jin serves as an Executive Sponsor to the Firm’s Culture & Engagement Collective (CEC), whose mission is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at Crowe Soberman by unifying cultural celebration, community engagement, and career development. The CED’s mission is to foster a respectful and inclusive culture, extend its impact into the broader community, and support the professional growth of all employees, making Crowe Soberman a leader in workplace inclusivity.

Volunteering her time at the international level, Jin works with Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII), an international women’s fraternity, as a member of the Constitution Interpretation and Revision Committee (CIRC). She is also the Alumnae Chapter President of AOII’s Toronto Area Alumnae Chapter, where she works with other area alumnae to facilitate activities to promote membership engagement, leadership development and community service.

Jin sits on the Board of Directors of Silent Voice and was a past Treasurer. Silent Voice serves Deaf adults, youth, children, and their families in an American Sign Language (ASL) environment and is dedicated to improving communication and relationships between Deaf and hearing family members and Deaf and hearing members of the community.
