Alice Madolciu is a Director in Crowe Soberman’s Tax Group. She was a co-op student and worked as a staff accountant at the firm before transferring to the Tax Group in 2008. Currently, Alice works in many aspects of the group’s international and domestic tax practices, with a focus on cross-border tax.
Alice provides tax planning, personal and corporate tax compliance services to Canadian and international clients doing business in Canada, from various backgrounds and industry sectors.
Alice helps guide the firm’s Sports and Entertainment Group, providing tax services to musicians, actors and entertainers, behind-the scenes personnel, including touring crews, film directors and producers, foreign corporations operating in Canada, and individuals immigrating to and emigrating from Canada.
Alice is an advocate for environmental protection and sustainability, and presently sits on the directorial boards of Planet in Focus (an organization that raises public awareness of environmental issues through film) and GreenPAC (a non-partisan organization that promotes environmental leadership in Canadian politics).
Alice has been an ongoing participant in the annual tax clinics put on by CPA Canada, providing free tax counsel and preparation of income tax returns to low-income individuals in the Greater Toronto Area.
Alice contributes to the firm’s tax publications and writes articles for the Tax Tips series. As well, she presents internally, educating her colleagues on new tax developments.
As a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Alice received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Chartered Accountancy Studies and has completed all three parts of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course, and International Tax In-Depth Course.
