Crowe MacKay LLP is pleased to announce Candace Surette, CPA, CA, as the Director of Quality. The Director of Quality role is a new position in Crowe MacKay and its introduction demonstrates the firm's focus on quality. This role will support the CEO and Standards Officer in leading Crowe MacKay's culture of excellence in quality assurance and ethics through the firm's system of quality control.
Candace has been a key member of the Kelowna office as a Senior Manager specializing in Quality Control and Standards. Candace brings extensive experience to her new role from supporting the Kelowna office's quality control processes and systems. This includes liaising with CPABC's 2017 practice inspection to performing quality control reviews of medium to high-risk assurance engagements, to supporting the office's CSRE 2400 standards transition in 2018.

As the Director of Quality, Candace will serve as the firm wide technical expert on assurance and accounting matters; develop and source professional education and activities that impact assurance engagement quality; perform compliance monitoring to ensure Crowe MacKay's quality control polices and CPA's professional audit and assurance standards are upheld; assist with the application and interpretation of the firm's professional code of conduct; and assist with the development of firm wide resources that support the efficient delivery of assurance engagements.
