After joining the firm in 1964, Abbey made his mark in countless ways. He became the firm’s second managing partner in 1989, a position he held for 15 years, and helped set the firm on a path of lasting growth. He championed expansion by bringing smaller accounting practices into the firm and recognized early the value of being part of an international accounting network.
For many years, Abbey had one of the firm’s largest client bases—a reflection of the trust he inspired and his genuine commitment to those he served.
Abbey was an eternal optimist who brought tremendous energy to the firm. He took a genuine interest in his colleagues and clients and had a gift for building connections and fostering camaraderie. Whether by turning the demands of tax season into a friendly competition or by bringing colleagues together for Friday drinks on the terrace of the firm's Redfern Avenue office, he made the workplace more enjoyable for everyone around him.
Many of the initiatives Abbey set in motion continue to shape the firm today, and his legacy remains part of our identity. The K in Crowe BGK represents Abbey Kreisman—a lasting reminder of the important role he played in building our firm.
