As a Tax Specialist you will help service our large client base by providing compliance-related tax services and contributing to a variety of client mandates such as corporate reorganizations and estate planning.

Position Profile:

As a Tax Specialist you would be responsible for:

  • Be in charge of income tax planning mandates, including reorganizations, acquisition and sale transactions, estate planning strategies, etc.
  • Advise client on various international matters (inbound tax obligations, specialized compliance for non-residents, emigration from Canada, etc.)
  • Providing litigation support and representing clients in dealing with the tax authorities (tax audits, objections, voluntary disclosures, interpretation requests, collection measures settlements, etc)
  • Propose practical and value-added solutions to clients in a large variety of situations
  • Keep informed and research on changing tax laws and effectively apply tax knowledge to files while remaining thorough and accurate
  • Prepare presentations for internal training and for clients
  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts
  • Other related duties

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm
  • Experience in cross-boarder planning and international tax is an asset
  • Must have a professional designation. CPA title is an asset
  • Enrolled or having completed the Master of Taxation program or CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses is an asset
  • Fluently bilingual (oral and written) in English and French
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership and client relations skills
