Crowe announces four partnership promotions and two new partner hires

Pensions Funds

Graham-JeffordGraeme Jefford becomes a partner in the Pension Funds team. Over a 20-year career, Graeme has built up a wealth of expertise in both statutory audit and internal audit services for pension schemes, as well as in pensions risk management assessment. He has worked at Crowe for more than a decade on a varied client portfolio, from defined benefit, defined contribution and hybrid pension schemes to common investment funds and Master Trusts.

Graeme has played a particularly important role in developing Crowe’s pensions internal audit service, which he leads, to help Trustees improve their risk registers and internal controls systems. He is well placed to help Trustees comply with emerging regulatory guidance, including new governance requirements set out in the Pension Regulator’s combined Code of Practice. His promotion underlines the sector’s success and continued growth.


Corporate Tax

Andrew HawleyAndrew Hawley has been promoted to partner in the Corporate Tax team. Andrew has more than 18 years’ tax experience and his interest and ongoing focus is on supporting large and international corporates; advising them on many aspects of their corporate tax affairs in both advisory and compliance. He frequently works with the Crowe Global network to help complex cross-border businesses realise their objectives, from overcoming challenges on withholding tax and company residency to restructuring operations and eliminating intercompany debt.

Andrew is also a member of Crowe’s Innovations (R&D) and Retail sector teams and has experience of working with clients across a variety of industries including, technology, retail, publishing, and leisure and tourism.

Andrew’s promotion comes at a time when tax is an increasingly global issue against the backdrop of OECD-led international reform as well as international challenges, such as the COVID-19 crisis. Aside from his ability to provide holistic advice to multinational clients, he has an ongoing interest and focus on assisting clients in adapting to the way technology is taking a more prevalent role in the delivery and management of tax services.


Operations Board

Two members of the Operations Board are being promoted to partner this year in recognition of their achievements.

Tony whiteTony White becomes ‘Partner, Chief People Officer’. Tony came to Crowe in 2016 to implement a strategic people plan as a foundation for the firm’s growth, encompassing HR, recruitment and internal learning and development initiatives. He has had a particularly important role throughout the course of the pandemic, championing plans to support Crowe’s people and nurture talent in a working environment that transformed overnight.  

 

Stephen AdsheadStephen Adshead has been promoted to ‘Partner, General Counsel’. Stephen joined Crowe in 2017 as its first General Counsel. Since then, he has developed his team and made an invaluable contribution to firmwide strategy, in particular advising the executive team, partners and employees on legal and regulatory risks.



External appointments

In addition to internal promotions, Crowe has also announced the appointment of two new partners, joining from another top 10 accountancy firm.

Trevor Ling
Trevor Ling
has been appointed partner within the Corporate Tax team. Trevor brings extensive tax expertise of more than 20 years, built up both in a consultancy environment and previous roles leading the in-house tax teams at FTSE-listed companies.

Nick Jones

Nick Jones
has been appointed partner in the Corporate Audit team. He brings with him almost 30 years’ experience, which includes being involved in delivering an extensive audit portfolio of fully listed, AIM listed, PE backed, and privately owned businesses operating in a variety of industries.
