Lack of trust in automation creates costs - the role of HR in AI management
Artificial intelligence is no longer a concept of the future but has become a real support in everyday operations and decision-making processes. The prevalence of this technology is confirmed by statistics. In 2024, 78% of organisations worldwide were using it. HR departments are keeping pace, with the percentage of companies implementing AI in HR processes almost doubling in just one year, reaching 43% in 2025.

The role of HR in AI management

Despite the technological boom, staff confidence lags behind.

61% of employees are sceptical about decisions made by artificial intelligence without human supervision. This issue dominated discussions at the Davos Forum in 2026, where it was noted that it is not a lack of computing power, but a deficit of trust and standards for responsible implementation that is currently hindering the full exploitation of AI's potential.

The conclusion is increasingly clear: automation without trust is not efficiency. Organisations that deploy AI without strong governance expose themselves to operational, cultural, and legal risks. Initiatives built on weak foundations, poor data quality, unclear accountability, or opaque algorithms frequently underperform or fail. What begins as transformation can quickly become an expensive experiment
