Cybersecurity Grants for SMEs 2026 - application window opened

4/27/2026
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is becoming one of the key investment areas for companies, not only due to increasing threats, but also new regulatory obligations, including the NIS2 directive. In response to these challenges, businesses can take advantage of current financial support programs at the European level.

One of the most important funding sources is the “Digital Europe Programme,” which supports the development of cybersecurity and the digital resilience of enterprises.

Cybersecurity Grants

Application call - deadline

The application call under the programme runs from 21 April to 1 October 2026 and is conducted in a competitive process.

In practice, this means that:

  • applications are evaluated according to specific qualitative and formal criteria,
  • competition between projects may be high,
  • the quality of application documentation and alignment with the programme’s objectives are crucial.

Preparation for submitting a cybersecurity grant application should not be postponed - developing the project, budget, and business justification requires time and precise alignment with the competition requirements.

Cybersecurity Grants

Grant amount - what can be obtained?

Within the programme, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises can receive funding ranging from EUR 30,000 to EUR 60,000 for projects including, among others:

  • implementation of cybersecurity solutions,
  • development of IT products and services,
  • adaptation to regulatory requirements (e.g. NIS2),
  • certification and technological development,
  • international cooperation and foreign expansion.

Cybersecurity Grants

Who are cybersecurity grants for?

This programme is particularly relevant for companies:

  • operating within supply chains of large organisations,
  • processing sensitive data,
  • subject to or preparing for new cybersecurity regulations (including NIS2).

If your organisation is preparing to implement NIS2, check our NIS2 compliance audit service.

In practice, this means that grants can not only increase an organisation’s security level but also help meet regulatory requirements and build a competitive advantage.
