Paul Lynch

Senior, Corporate Finance

We grab a quick virtual watercooler catch up with Paul Lynch, who joined us initially in 2013 as an intern before becoming a trainee and completing his ACCA qualifications last year. We find out how lockdown helped himself and his girlfriend save to buy a house and how, as a result, he has found a hidden talent in gardening!

Briefly, tell me about your career to date

I have been with Crowe for over six years. I had completed a summer internship in the corporate finance department the year prior to joining. After completing my Masters in Accounting, I joined as a trainee and am now a qualified ACCA. I have worked with the corporate finance department for the duration of my time here, primarily on the Restructuring & Insolvency team.

Why Crowe?
This stemmed from the internship which gave me a great experience and insight. The firm is very interpersonal, being able to deal directly with the partners and all other staff. The work is broad and varied and I have gained great experience of a variety of businesses and different clients.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The fact that no two jobs are the same. I can be working on a wide range of assignments and businesses through liquidations, receiverships and monitoring assignments.

Give me three words that describe Crowe’s culture.
Progressive, adaptable, motivated.

What is the best advice you have received and from whom?
Failing to plan is planning to fail – My Dad.

What has been your lockdown take way experience?
Myself and my partner were able to save to buy our first house.

What have you really missed because of lockdown?
The lack of sport during the first lockdown and the social interaction with friends and family.

What’s your guilty pleasure
Pulling pranks on the girlfriend!

What’s your hidden talent?
I would never have thought this, but since buying the house – gardening!

What have been your favourite TV show during lockdown?
Formula 1: Drive to Survive, Line of Duty, and we re-watched The Sopranos from start to finish.
