At Crowe MacKay, giving back has always been an important part of who we are. Volunteerism allows us to support the communities we live and work in, while also bringing our people together in meaningful ways. Volunteer Week is a chance to reflect on the contributions made throughout the year and to recognize the difference our teams have made.
Our approach is rooted in four guiding pillars: We Care. We Share. We Invest. We Grow. These values shape how we serve others, whether it’s lending a hand at local events, supporting non-profits, or sharing our time and skills where they’re needed most. Together, we’re proud to celebrate the impact of our collective efforts and the lasting connections they continue to create.
Baking for a Brighter Future
Our Calgary team had the privilege of volunteering with Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids (BB4CK) in June, a local charity dedicated to ensuring no child goes hungry. BB4CK provides free, healthy lunches to kids in need across the city, helping them focus on learning and growing. Together, our Calgary team baked 800 homemade treats and helped fill lunch bags with care, love, and nourishment supporting BB4CK’s mission to nourish not just stomachs, but futures
Harvesting Hope at Helen’s Acres
In July, 24 volunteers from our Kelowna team contributed 67 hours at Helen’s Acres, harvesting 800 lbs of onions and 2,500 lbs of carrots. Helen’s Acres is a 24-acre non-profit community farm in Kelowna, dedicated to growing fresh produce for local charities and social programs. Through the support of volunteers and community partnerships, the farm helps address food insecurity in the Central Okanagan, providing nutritious vegetables, berries, and eggs to families and individuals in need.
Supporting Local Families, One Return at a Time
A team of three from the Vancouver office spent time at Gordon Neighborhood House helping 33 community members file their tax and benefit returns. By guiding taxpayers through the process, they ensured individuals received the support they rely on, easing stress and giving people confidence that their finances were taken care of. It’s a small act that makes a meaningful difference. These efforts go a long way in strengthening the wellbeing of the communities we serve
Making Mealtime Meaningful at JoAnna’s House
In July, eight volunteers from our Kelowna team prepared and served a BBQ luncheon for guests at JoAnna’s House. The organization provides meals and much-needed breaks for families of loved ones receiving care at Kelowna General Hospital. By sharing food and time, our team helped create moments of comfort and connection during challenging times.
We are grateful for the dedication and generosity shown by our team so far this year. Each contribution, no matter the size, reflects our commitment to caring for our communities and growing together.
To us, volunteerism is a year-round commitment and an important part of who we are at Crowe MacKay. As 2025 continues and we look ahead to 2026, we’ll continue to look for ways to support our communities, strengthen connections, and make a lasting impact together.
