York obtained his Chartered Accountant designation with a national firm in Prince George, BC. He trained as a tax specialist there for four years. In 1986, York joined the Vancouver office of MacKay and Partners, predecessor to Crowe MacKay LLP.  He was promoted to Tax Partner in 1990 and is knowledgeable in many areas of taxation, including the Goods and Services Tax. He maintains a client base of small businesses, specializing in professionals. and now leads the entrepreneurial group in the Vancouver office.

York has over 30 years of experience in tax planning, estate planning, personal financial planning, and trusts. He primarily serves family-owned businesses, professionals, high-net-worth individuals, and non-residents looking to make investments in Canada. York is often called upon to assist clients with succession planning and corporate strategy.
