Senior Accountant, Assurance and Accounting

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant in Assurance to prepare review and compilation engagement files with some exposure to audit.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for clients in a variety of owner managed businesses and non-profit enterprises
  • Plan and oversee the fieldwork for reviews of small to medium sized organizations in a variety of industries
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements of business clients and being the leader on mandates, reviewing work of accounting team and completion of complex portions of the file
  • Effective communication with our clients, government agencies and with our partners and staff
  • Keeping partners and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues
  • Providing supervision and training  to other staff members and completion of performance evaluations
  • Provide accounting and tax compliance services to private clients for compilation and review engagements

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

  • CPA Designation is required
  • A minimum of three years (3) of public accounting experience is preferred, with emphasis on assurance experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Adobe, Caseware, Caseview and Tax Prep
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to lead client engagements and interact efficiently and effectively with clients
  • Remain current and knowledgeable on trending topics in accounting and assurance
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth
