Fraud Risk Management Workshop

It gives us immense joy to share that one of the biggest event to celebrate the Fraud Awareness Week sponsored by Crowe received an overwhelming success from over 100 fraud risk professionals representing more than 60+ banks and Financial institutions. It was an amazing collaboration between Crowe, ACFE & Open Thinking Academy to host the event which saw peers form industry joining us and sharing their knowledge on the Future Perspectives on Fraud Risk Management.

The morning kicked off by Iyad Mourtada setting the stage with his wit opening remarks getting the crowd asking for more. The audience next had a great opportunity to listen to Industry experts in a powerful panel discussion which had Mr. Charanjeet Singh (FAB), Mr. Ian Potgieter (Western Union), Mr. Riaan van Schalkwyk (HSBC) and Mr. David Cafferty (Crowe) moderated by Iyad (Open Thinking). We had very active participants wanting to learn more from the panelists and we are sure that they got plenty of time to do so as the experts stayed with us to witness the entire event.

Nadeem Maniar, Director-Consulting presented along with Imran Dhalla, Manager-Audit & Assurance on the Cost of Fraud and shared the ground reality which got the audience stricken. As an icing on the cake we had Mr. Saad Maniar, Senior Partner sharing his expert opinion on the fraud prevention techniques and the future fraud trends. Saad also got the audiences on their toes to participate in the opinion poll and as always laying emphasis on the core values of Integrity, Objectivity, Competency, Professional behavior, Confidentiality and Transparency. That's the key to regain trust in the marketplace.

Then finally, we had our mastermind Iyad to make the bankers trying to break the bank to get the treasure in an interactive, team building and a mind boggling game. The participants had a great time which was evident by their involvement and the level of excitement we could witness on the floor. Finally, we had the winners going away with token of appreciation however not with the treasure they broke into :-).
