A Strong Start to 2026

Audit and assurance services

Crowe JHB began on a positive note, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026.

We kicked things off with a friendly game of padel, bringing colleagues together outside the office. It was the perfect opportunity to reconnect as a team after the holiday break. Starting the year with this kind of energy has certainly motivated us for the months ahead.

Alongside these team moments, we have also celebrated some important professional milestones within the firm. Castro Letsoalo recently passed his examination, a significant step in his journey. This achievement reflects Castro’s dedication and commitment to professional excellence. We are incredibly proud of this milestone and look forward to seeing his continued growth and success.

We are also pleased to congratulate Jason Da Silva on his appointment as Audit Manager at Crowe JHB. This promotion reflects his consistent commitment, strong technical expertise, and leadership within the audit team. Jason’s journey is a testament to the value of hard work and accountability, and we are confident he will continue to make a meaningful impact in his new role.

Our Audit Division has also started the year at full pace, hosting a series of training sessions focused on audit planning and navigating increasingly complex audit scenarios. These sessions are designed to equip our teams with advanced technical skills and practical insights, ensuring that Crowe continues to deliver the high-quality service our clients expect. With the year already well underway, the division is well positioned to take on new challenges and opportunities.

Another exciting highlight has been welcoming our newest intake of audit trainees. After completing their induction and work-readiness programme, they have officially begun their articles as they embark on their journey toward becoming Chartered Accountants (SA). With the support of mentors, managers, partners, and the wider Crowe team, we are confident that this will be both a challenging and rewarding experience for them.

At Crowe, investing in our people goes beyond professional development. We recently hosted Anchor Capital for a financial wellness session with our staff, led by Steven Benjamin from their Wealth Management team. The session offered valuable insights into financial planning and highlighted the importance of making informed decisions and building long-term financial resilience. Conversations like these help create a workplace where our people feel supported not only in their careers but also in their personal financial wellbeing.

Our commitment to developing the profession also extends beyond the firm. The Crowe Southern Africa team recently attended the University of Pretoria’s Accounting Career Day, where we had the opportunity to engage with aspiring accounting and finance professionals. Connecting with students, sharing insights about the profession, and discussing career opportunities at Crowe is always energising, and we look forward to seeing some of these talented individuals join the profession in the future.

While we celebrate new beginnings, we also take a moment to honour an extraordinary career. This year we bid farewell to Rossana Carusi, who retires after an incredible 49 years of dedicated service at Crowe. Rossana’s loyalty, expertise, and contribution to the tax and secretarial divisions have left a lasting legacy within the firm. Her commitment and professionalism have shaped many careers and strengthened the firm over the decades. We thank her for her remarkable contribution and wish her every happiness in this well-deserved new chapter.

As the year continues to unfold, these moments of connection, achievement, learning, and gratitude remind us what makes Crowe such a special place to work. Here’s to building on this strong start and making 2026 a year of continued growth and success.
