Here's a look at some of the highlights that shaped the season and reflect our commitment to people, purpose, and performance.
A collaboration designed to bridge academia and industry.
Among the season’s memorable moments was our attendance at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) Graduate Recruiters’ Breakfast. The morning brought together academic leadership, student councils, and employers who play a vital role in shaping graduate pathways. It was an insightful gathering, giving us the opportunity to listen, connect, and reflect on how institutions and firms can collaborate to prepare students for a rapidly evolving professional landscape.
At Crowe JHB we have been actively nurturing the next generation of accounting and auditing professionals, being involved in graduate recruitment efforts across top South African universities.
These partnerships are pivotal:
• For Universities: The university gains direct access to employers who provide real-world opportunities for graduates, ensuring their programs align with industry needs.
• For Crowe JHB: We engage with top-tier accounting and auditing students early, identifying talent that aligns with our values.
This dialogue ensures graduates are equipped with skills that meet market demands. We have expanded our model to other universities. These recruitment interactions are more than talent pipelines, they are long-term investments in shaping a more inclusive, dynamic, and future-ready profession.
But growth isn’t only about what happens externally.
At Crowe JHB, we continue to prioritise the development and wellbeing of our people. This season also saw the team step away from the office for a full-day team-building experience hosted by Beach & Bush, where colleagues collaborated through high-energy games, creative challenges, and the immersive “Lost in Africa” adventure. The event sparked laughter, creativity, and strengthened interpersonal bonds - reinforcing how much we can achieve when we work together. That sense of balance is woven into our culture. Regular padel matches, where our CEO and partners play alongside staff, have become a firm favourite. The mix of fitness, fun, and fellowship helps us maintain momentum, both personally and professionally. And at our Social Braai Day, we paused to celebrate achievements like CTA and IAC exam successes, while warmly welcoming new colleagues into the fold. These shared moments of pride and appreciation are the cornerstones of our inclusive culture.
While we celebrated, we also reaffirmed our commitment to professional integrity through a firm-wide ethics and anti-money laundering training. The session served as a powerful reminder that compliance, transparency, and accountability are not checkboxes — they are deeply embedded values that shape how we serve our clients and community. Ethics anchors our profession.
Looking ahead, we are turning our attention to the past — and the people who helped build it. This year, we are proud to launch a Crowe Alumni initiative, with a special reunion in the works. Whether part of the Crowe Johannesburg story or the earlier Horwath Leveton and Boner (HLB) era, our alumni represent more than history — they represent the living legacy of our values. This reunion isn’t just about reminiscing; it’s about reconnecting across generations, sharing where life has taken us, and celebrating the shared foundation we’ve all helped create.
From campus breakfasts to courtside banter, from strategy sessions to social firesides, Crowe JHB continues to grow with purpose. We enter the next chapter energised by the people who power our firm and inspired by the possibilities that lie ahead.
