Brexit isn’t “done.” The implementation period began immediately after Brexit day and is due to end on 31 December 2020. During this time, the UK will continue to follow all of the EU's rules and its trading relationship will remain exactly the same.
The transition period is meant to give both sides some time to negotiate a free agreement. If a new one cannot be agreed upon in time, then the UK would trade with no deal in place. That means tariffs on UK goods exported.
