This presentation provides an overview of the new revenue recognition standard (Topic 606), and addresses how we arrived where we are today. It describes the principles an entity must apply going forward to measure and recognize revenue from contracts with customers as well as some of the impacts of this standard. This session also provides an overview of the five-step revenue recognition model, describes the presentation and disclosure requirements, and outlines best practices gleaned from successful implementations.
