Crowe assists in the sale of local Dalkey business Country Bake

Crowe is delighted to have supported Margaret and Paul O’Toole in the sale of their long-established family food and café business Country Bake, located in the heart of Dalkey. 

Established in 1987, and run by Margaret O’Toole, Country Bake has long been a favourite of Dalkey locals, including Hollywood actor Matt Damon when he stayed close by during the lockdown earlier this year.

Margaret and Paul O’Toole are delighted that a lot of the staff are staying on when new owner Stephen Doyle takes over. Stephen is Margaret’s nephew and son of Joe Doyle of Donnybrook Fair fame. Crowe assisted Joe Doyle when he sold his business to Musgraves in 2018.

Stephen will continue the long tradition of baking fresh products on site every day for sale in the shop. In the early days, Margaret used to start each day at 5am with her two daughters in tow, putting them in bunk beds until they had to get up and go to school in Loreto Dalkey. 

On hearing the news of her retirement, many of Margaret’s loyal customers and well wishers lined up outside the shop to wish her well.

Crowe wishes her and Paul many happy years in their well-deserved retirement and the very best for new owner Stephen Doyle.
