Alan is the head of the firm’s Risk Consulting practice. A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors, he joined Crowe in 2017.
Alan possesses many years’ experience of successfully leading the provision of internal audit, risk management and corporate governance services to a wide range of clients in Ireland and the UK. He brings to bear a significant level of insight into the issues and challenges facing Government Departments and State Bodies in respect of risk and governance, and his recent professional experience also includes numerous clients in the not-for-profit and private sectors.
He is a leading adviser to Government Departments and State Bodies on the application of professional standards, and has successfully led External Quality Assessments of numerous internal audit functions in the public sector.

Alan is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland as a Head of Internal Audit (PCF-13) in the regulated financial services sector.
He has also been trained as a PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner and has effectively deployed these credentials in advising clients on their planning, management and oversight of major programmes and projects.
