The Croatian Tourist Card

The Croatian Tourist Card is a project of the Croatian Government and the Ministry of Tourism which should encourage consumption in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Employers can pay an annual tax-free amount up to HRK 2,500 per employee via a special purpose card (so-called Croatian Tourist Card or CRO card) for payments which include catering, tourist and other services that will be consumed by an employee during vacation in Croatia. The Croatian Tourist Card can be used for payment of the following services:

• catering facilities (consumption of food and beverages in restaurants, cafes, etc.),
• accommodation facilities (hotels, camps, private renters, etc.),
• travel agencies and tour operators services (travel, package arrangements, etc.)
• boat rental (charter).

The Croatian Tourist Card is currently issued only by Croatian Post Bank (Hrvatska poštanska banka).

The Croatian Tourist Card can be used as a means of payment in all places that accept non-cash payments via bank cards.
