Double Tax Treaty between the Republic of Croatia and Australia

On November 24, 2025, in Canberra, Australia, the Minister of Finance, Marko Primorac, on behalf of the Republic of Croatia, signed the Agreement on Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Income Taxes and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance with Australia.

According to the Agreement, the applicable withholding tax rates are as follows:

• 10% on dividends, or 5% when the beneficial owner is a company that directly holds at least 10% of the voting rights.
• 10% on interest and royalties.

The agreement will enter into force once it is officially ratified by both parties.
