Hugh Livingstone

Hugh is a natural problem solver, and in the niche of business valuation and litigation support, that’s often the characteristic you want. Never a perfect science, business valuations are based on pertinent information, experience, judgment, and reasoning. Hugh has earned the trust and confidence of clients for his dedication to research and for his pragmatic approach to finding solutions.

Throughout his career, Hugh has assisted privately held businesses in audit, accounting, and taxation. Additionally, Hugh is a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV), which is the only recognized valuation organization in Canada. The niche expertise of a CBV is often required when buying or selling businesses, resolving shareholder disputes, estate planning, or settling valuation disputes with Canada Revenue Agency. Hugh has given testimony as an expert witness on valuation matters before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Hugh is the author of numerous presentations and articles on valuation matters. He has held many senior positions at Crowe MacKay LLP, including Managing Director of the Vancouver and Surrey offices, a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, and CEO.
