Michael Giammalvo is a partner in the Crowe LLP federal tax services group and leads the firm’s financial services tax group. He also serves as the strategy leader for the tax business unit. He specializes in corporate tax consulting for banks.

Michael has more than 20 years of experience working with financial institutions ranging in size from de novo banks to billion-dollar, multistate public bank holding companies. He delivers tax services in the areas of:

• Mergers and acquisitions, including tax-free exchanges, stock options, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, federal tax credit programs, and multistate taxation issues
• Financial reporting and related disclosures
• Taxation of FDIC-assisted acquisitions related to failed bank assets and bankruptcy
