Michael Budinger

Michael Budinger is a principal in the Crowe LLP risk consulting services group and he leads the firm’s national credit risk consulting team. In this role, he directs efforts to design and deliver credit risk and model validation services for commercial, payment card, mortgage, and retail credit programs.

Michael has more than 15 years of experience working with financial services organizations ranging in size from $500 million to $20 billion. He has played a significant role in the firm’s development of credit and non-credit related models, including providing clients with validation expertise in the areas of:

• Allowance for loan and lease losses
• Credit risk rating
• Fair lending
• Stress-testing program development
• Credit program assessments
• Loan portfolio analytics
• Mortgage servicing risk assessments
• Crowe Alert Review System™ (CARS™) for Loan Review

Prior to joining Crowe, Michael managed mortgage portfolio analysis operations for a major bank.
