In the Official Gazette no. 410 of May 18, 2020 was published the Decision no. 394/2020 regarding the approval of the establishment of the state of alert and the measures that are applied during it to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Romanian Government approves the establishment of the "alert state" in Romania for a period of 30 days, starting with May 18, 2020.

 

 

During the alert state, the following infection prevention and control measures are applied:

 

All economic operators, professionals and public institutions / authorities have the obligation to organize the activity, so as to ensure, at the entrance to the headquarters, on a mandatory basis, the epidemiological triage and the obligatory disinfection of the hands, both for the own staff and for the visitors, according to the adopted norms.

 

It is forbidden the entry on the territory of Romania, of foreign citizens and stateless persons, except for the family members of the Romanian citizens, the family members of the citizens of other EU member states, or of the European Economic Area or of the Swiss Confederation, with residence in Romania, persons who have a long-stay visa, a residence permit or a document equivalent to a residence permit issued by the authorities or a document equivalent to them issued by the authorities of other states, according to EU law, to persons traveling in a professional interest (medical staff, researchers in the medical field, medical staff for geriatric care, as well as carriers and other categories of staff involved in the transport of goods that provide such necessary transport), proven by visa, residence permit or other equivalent document.

 

It is extended the suspension of flights to Austria, Belgium, the Swiss Confederation, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Spain, the United States, Turkey and Iran and from these countries to Romania for all airports in Romania.

 

It is extended the suspension of the international road transport of persons by special and occasional regular services in international traffic, for all journeys made by carriers to Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Turkey and from these countries to Romania, except for persons who travel on the basis of an Employment Contract in the destination country or return to Romania upon termination of the respective Employment Contract.

 

The measure of quarantine/isolation at home together with the family/relatives with whom they live together/institutionalized quarantine is maintained during the alert state for all persons coming to Romania from abroad, for a period of 14 days, except for drivers of goods vehicles with a maximum authorized capacity of more than 2.4 tons, drivers of passenger vehicles with more than 9 seats (moving in the interest of pursuing their profession in their state of residence in another Member State of the European Union or in another state of the European Union in their state of residence) and for other categories of persons, expressly listed, who have traveled in the professional interest, provided that they do not show symptoms associated with COVID-19.
