Metals industry ERP accelerator upgraded with latest Microsoft functionality

CHICAGO (Aug. 11, 2014) Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the U.S., announced an update to the Crowe Metals Accelerator. The solution, designed for metals producers, processors, fabricators and service centers, now runs on the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. This update gives metals companies access to the platform’s newest features, including new and integrated warehousing and transportation management capabilities.

The Crowe Metals Accelerator now contains additional features built specifically for the metals industry, including:

• Advanced product search capabilities to streamline order entry and minimize keystrokes;
• Receiving and picking functionality to better support products of random lengths;
• Advanced pricing logic providing the ability to price by product attribute or by margin on replacement cost; and
• Costing features that allow for segmented costs to be tracked cumulatively.

Earlier this year, the Crowe Metals Accelerator was awarded the “Certified for Microsoft Dynamics” (CfMD) accreditation, which signified that the solution had met Microsoft Corp.’s highest standard for partner-developed software. The Crowe Metals Accelerator was the first Microsoft Dynamics AX certified solution for the metals industry.
