CHICAGO (Feb. 16, 2017) – Crowe Horwath LLP, one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the U.S., was named one of Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services today. The list is based on feedback from more than 36,750 employees at Great Place to Work-Certified™ companies in the consulting or professional services sectors.

“It’s an honor to be named to this list,” said Crowe CEO Jim Powers. “Our people and our values of care, share, invest and grow contribute to making Crowe a great place to work. We all believe in the same purpose and what it takes to get there. Everything we do leads us to making smart decisions today to build lasting value tomorrow for our people, clients and communities.”

Some of the Crowe policies frequently attributed by personnel as reasons Crowe is a great place to work include:

  • The mobility strategy. The strategy includes a “What to Wear” policy, which allows individuals the option to wear jeans while in the office, and a “Where to Work” policy, which allows people to work where they’ll be most productive. So far, more than 90 percent of Crowe people have taken advantage of the latter policy, whether it’s working from a client site, from home or from another remote location. Additionally, Crowe provides its people with multiple wellness initiatives, childcare reimbursement during weekend business travel and significant parental leave.
  • A proven innovation road map. Building upon a strong foundation of deep industry specialization and technical knowledge, Crowe professionals follow this road map to cultivate original, practical solutions that help address their clients’ most pressing challenges. Each year, Crowe invests about two percent of firm revenue in new product development funding to develop ideas its people bring forward. A team that focuses on new product development collaborates with accomplished software developers to bring solutions to life. Together they apply technology to help clients manage complex processes and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Crowe Horwath Idea Portal provides a means for people to bring forth ideas to help improve internal processes at the firm, such as how to streamline procedures, save time, reduce costs, increase productivity or boost morale.
  • Community service opportunities. Crowe’s community service policies allow people time to support not-for-profit organizations that they care about. In the firm’s fiscal year ending March 31, 2016, Crowe people provided 32,000 hours of volunteer community services, equivalent to the work of 16 full-time employees for charitable organizations. Altogether, the firm and its personnel contributed $1.57 million of charitable giving in fiscal year 2016. Additional information can be found in the latest Crowe Community Investment Report.

According to Fortune and Great Place to Work, the companies were selected to the Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services list based on employees' assessment of leadership strength, benefit quality, opportunities for professional growth and support for work-life balance, among other factors essential to a happy, high-functioning team. Fortune and Great Place to Work have also named Crowe to the lists for recent college graduates, millennials, women, parents and giving back.
