CHICAGO (Nov. 29, 2018) – “I am out of the office on maternity leave with limited access to email, clean clothes, quality sleep and time to shower, but am ever so thankful for Crowe's generous maternity leave policy, which allows me to spend this time at home with my baby,” read a recent “out of office” message from Mandi Simpson, a partner in audit services at Crowe. It’s not an expected corporate email message, but it sums up one of the reasons Crowe made the best workplaces for parents list again.

Crowe, a public accounting, consulting and technology firm with offices around the world, was named to the Fortune 2018 Best Workplaces for Parents list for the third consecutive year. To compile this list, Great Place to Work® surveyed parents and nonparents, representing more than 5 million U.S. employees.

One driver for Crowe’s recurring placement on this list is its parental leave policy, which is composed of six weeks of full-paid time off for all new parents following the birth, adoption or act of custody of a child, plus an additional short-term disability period for birth mothers. Crowe parents can take the leave in full or in two-week increments within a one-year period.

The firm's mobility policy is another driver for success in the workplace and overall work-life balance among Crowe personnel, including parents. With the flexibility of choosing when to work in the office and when to work off-site, parents are often able to schedule around their children’s events. Erin Keefe, a resource manager in tax services, said the mobility policy allows her to transition smoothly between her family’s activities and work.

“Before I came to Crowe I felt very removed from my children and their activities,” Keefe said. “Crowe’s mobility policy has allowed me to attend special events for my children, including their holiday parties and sporting events. I’m able to either work in or outside of the office, attend the event and return back to work very easily. I’m personally so appreciative of the flexibility.”

According to Great Place to Work®, the analysis for this list focused on parents' feedback evaluating level of support received as a parent, and assessing the quality of parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, child care and dependent healthcare benefits.
