CHICAGO (June 29, 2016) – Chelsea Wiese joined Crowe Horwath LLP when she was 23 years old. Two years later, she’s leading projects, being encouraged to expand her role in the direction she desires and is working from home on Fridays. Crowe is one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the U.S. and was just named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials. The list, compiled by Great Place to Work, is based on feedback from more than 88,000 professionals born in 1981 or later.

“There’s a reason Crowe is leading the top 10 national accounting firms on this list,” said Wiese, a millennial and Crowe consultant. “Crowe’s environment encourages continuous learning through collaboration, experience and in-house education classes. Our performance managers are open and supportive, and the firm has continued to roll out great benefits for us.”

Along with a mobility strategy that allows personnel to work where they are most productive and a more casual dress code, Crowe also promotes the health and well-being of its people. Employees choose and track progress of personal health initiatives – such as working out, eating healthy, spending time with family and staying on top of annual check-ups – using the online Crowe Wellness Portal while earning points toward gift cards or health insurance premium reductions. Additionally, the firm offers partial gym reimbursements and onsite programs, such as yoga classes and flu shot clinics, to promote healthy lifestyles for its people.

“More than half of Crowe’s workforce are considered millennials; they are the future of our firm,” said Julie Wood, Crowe chief people officer. “Their feedback has been – and will continue to be – vital in the decisions and implementation of the firm’s policies and strategies.”

According to Fortune and Great Place to Work, randomly-selected employees from approximately 600 organizations were surveyed on 58 workplace quality questions. Each company was then compared to the benchmark for organizations of that size. When surveyed, Crowe people ranked the firm 90 percent or higher on factors such as: management’s honest and ethical business practices, pride of employment, management’s competence at running the business, opportunity to take on responsibility and the ability to take time off from work. It was the responses from the millennial portion of the overall Crowe survey results that made the firm eligible for the this new Fortune list.

In May, Crowe was also ranked one of the best workplaces for recent college graduates by Fortune. “It’s great to be recognized for the second time as a firm that supports our people. It shows our continuous push to foster an environment where talent can prosper,” Wood said.
