Crowe again named by Fortune as a great place to work for women

CHICAGO (Sept. 19, 2019) – Crowe LLP, a public accounting, consulting and technology firm with offices around the world, was named to the Fortune 75 Best Large Workplaces for Women list, released today. The list is based on feedback representing more than 4.6 million people at Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations. According to Fortune and Great Place to Work®, the companies were selected to the list based on their generous benefits, flexible schedules, work-life balance emphasis, pay and promotion practices and the authenticity of manager communication.

As part of its commitment to gender equality in the workplace, Crowe provides personnel programs and policies designed to contribute to that goal. For example, a “Where to Work” policy allows people to work where they’ll be most productive and encourages personnel to create their own work-life integration. More than 90% of Crowe people have taken advantage of the policy, whether it’s working from home to minimize commuting time or working at a client site when leading a project. Additionally, Crowe provides its people with multiple wellness initiatives, childcare reimbursement during business travel and significant parental leave.

Crowe has a long history of focusing on women leadership and development. For example, the Women Leading @ Crowe program provides career and leadership development support to all women within the firm, from building a strong network and close collaboration among the senior women leaders of the firm to supporting and mentoring young women as they begin their careers.

Mandi Simpson, financial services partner at Crowe, has firsthand experience with the firm’s dedication to helping women succeed in their careers. She joined the firm in 2004 as an Indianapolis campus hire, later relocating to Atlanta in 2012 to help build the firm’s growing financial institutions team. Crowe leaders offered Simpson the opportunity in 2016 to join the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Professional Accounting Fellowship program in Washington, D.C. When she completed the fellowship in 2018, she returned to the Crowe Atlanta office and was elected partner.

“The support from the uppermost levels of Crowe management throughout my career has been amazing,” Simpson said. “I was pregnant both when Crowe initially offered me the fellowship opportunity and again when my fellowship was complete and I was returning to the firm. Each time, Crowe leadership encouraged me to make decisions that were best for me and my family. For example, after my fellowship, I was able to move back to Atlanta and spend three weeks at Crowe before taking a 12-week maternity leave and then returning full time. To have the firm’s leadership live out the Crowe core values and commitment to women in that way speaks volumes to me about the culture that we have.”
