Crowe hires cannabis industry accounting leader to further expand its market leadership
Crowe consolidates its position as the leading provider of accounting and advisory services to the cannabis sector with addition of Rebecca Young
CHICAGO (Aug. 29, 2023) - Crowe LLP, a public accounting, consulting, and technology firm with offices around the world, has announced a strengthened market focus in the cannabis sector, with the hire of seasoned industry leader Rebecca Young, who joins as a managing director in the accounting advisory team. Young has over 20 years of accounting experience and will help lead Crowe's strategic focus on the fast-growing cannabis industry. Prior to joining Crowe, Young served as the chief accounting officer at one of the largest cannabis companies in the US. Among her responsibilities were preparation and review of SEC filings, oversight of the accounting close, technical accounting, tax, treasury, accounts payable, and payroll. She led the purchase accounting and accounting integration for one of the industry’s largest acquisitions and has experience in conversion of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Young’s experience in financial reporting and managing an accounting organization in the cannabis sector will enhance the service offerings to Crowe’s existing clients and new clients as the industry continues to grow.
