CHICAGO (Oct. 18, 2018) Crowe (www.crowe.com) has been named a Challenger in the ALM Vanguard of Cybersecurity Consulting Providers by ALM Intelligence – Consulting division. ALM Intelligence, previously known as Kennedy Consulting, recently released its 2018 rankings. ALM describes those in the Challenger category as being organizations that “can execute end-to-end projects in low complexity engagement models or a substantial portion of project components in high-complexity engagement models.”

According to the report, “Crowe’s approach to cybersecurity begins with a clear and thorough understanding of the client’s existing cybersecurity program, associated risks and desired future state. This is accomplished through application of Crowe’s Cyber Risk and Control framework, which combines authoritative and industry best practices to create an integrated and single framework of risk and controls.” The report also cited the recent Crowe acquisition of SDGblue and the Purdue-Crowe Digital Risk Collaboratory as evidence of the firm’s expansion of cybersecurity consulting services.

“Our purpose is to make the world a safer and more secure place, which is an important focus for all our clients,” said Steve Strammello, managing partner of Crowe risk consulting. “We’re delighted that ALM Intelligence recognized Crowe in this field.”

“This is great recognition for our team’s extraordinary talent in advising our clients how to strengthen their approach to IT governance and cybersecurity risk management,” added Troy La Huis, leader of Crowe cybersecurity risk consulting.

The ALM Vanguard of Cybersecurity Consulting Providers assesses firms in terms of their relative ability to create impact for their clients. For this, the ALM Vanguard displays the relative position of the providers featured in the report, deemed capable in cybersecurity consulting, based on an evaluation of their overall capabilities according to a consistent set of criteria. Capability depth denotes a provider’s capacity to get results for clients, while capability breadth indicates its ability to deploy that capacity across multiple client scenarios.
