Shannon Scott, an Assistant Manager in our Consulting department, offers insight into Crowe's graduate programme and how it has helped her succeed in her career with Crowe.

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

I studied Finance and Business at the University of Edinburgh before joining Crowe in January 2020.

What is it about a career at Crowe that appealed to you?

The consulting department within Crowe has a wide variety of interesting clients and projects in the public sector. This variety means you get to work with different people and tackle different challenges with each project, which keeps things interesting and means you are constantly learning and developing with each new project.

Describe a typical day at Crowe?

In Consulting, due to our varied range of projects and clients, no two days are ever the same. Our work ranges from conducting research, to writing reports, to spending the day on a client site engaging directly with stakeholders.

How would you describe the culture and work environment here at Crowe?

There is a culture of continuous learning and development within Crowe where you are encouraged to get involved and always ask questions.

You initially joined Crowe as a junior employee a few years back and you've now grown into a permanent role. How has Crowe helped you in your career development?

Crowe has provided me with a range of opportunities to undertake formal and informal training. You are encouraged to get involved with a wide range of projects with different managers who can support you in learning about the different areas of consulting.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering applying for Crowe's graduate programme?

Go for it. If you are someone who is enthusiastic and willing to learn you will make a great addition to our team.

What advice would you give to current graduates who are just starting out in their careers?

Ask a lot of questions, and spend time learning from the extensive range of expertise on your team. Everyone is here to help you develop.
