David Lees, Director, Consulting, Crowe Ireland

David Lees

Associate Director, Consulting
David is an associate director in the firm’s consulting department. His background as a public health graduate and registered mental health nurse gives him a sound foundation to lead and support a wide range of consulting projects relating to health and wellbeing.

During a 16-year career in the NHS, David fulfilled several roles as a manager, practitioner, and clinician across various aspects and disciplines of healthcare. Since leaving the NHS, he has worked as a consultant for clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. His consultancy work has seen him deliver interventions and initiatives for a wide variety of clients, including the World Health Organisation and the European Development Fund.

David has been a trusted leader for significant national programmes of change in the UK and Ireland for many years. His experience throughout Western Europe, the Balkans, the Nordics, the Caribbean, India, and the Philippines shape his skills and knowledge in responding positively and creatively to health and wellbeing challenges for policymakers, regulators, commissioners, providers, and the public.

David’s keen focus is on driving change that is evidence-based, rooted in a real-world perspective, and inclusive of stakeholders. Having worked in very complex and testing environments, he brings an action learning focus for clients, stakeholders, and the consultancy team.

As a life-long fan of Everton Football Club, David is used to the cycle of joy and despair (more despair than joy), which he regards as character-building. He also enjoys reading, walking, playing with his two Maine Coon cats, and telling jokes befitting of polite company – Up The Toffees!
